There are a few priceless possessions that you want to keep safe during a move, and if you are like me your television set is one of them. Properly packing your television will ensure its survival on the road and back into your home again.

The best way to pack your television is to use its original box. It was meant to fit that specific television, and usually comes with foam blocks or other support to keep it secure.

Some of us, however, don't think to keep the original box our television came in so the next best thing would to find a box big enough that will fit your television. Local moving dealerships, such as Uhaul, have a lot of different boxes available to choose from for the specific size of your television. They are also a good place to look for packing supplies to wrap around your television.

Once you have the packing supplies you would like to use, make certain you use the bubble wrap, pads, towels, etc around the television before you secure the television inside the box. The tape I like to use best is painters tape, as it doesn't do any damage to your television when you take that off.

Sometimes, for one reason or another, a box can't be found that fits your television. If this is the case make certain to use a lot of packing material. Bubble wrap is one of the best packing material out there because it absorbs a lot of shock and is easy to place. Putting card board over the screen of your television is another good idea to protect the screen from harm.

Always have another person there to help you move your Television set. If you try to move it by yourself you have a higher chance or dropping it or damaging it when placing it in its box or in the vehicle.

Never put a television on its side during the move. Placing it in as close to an upright position as possible is best when moving sincetelevisions were meant to be upright and can handle traveling a lot better that way.

Remembering to pack your television properly will keep it safe during your move. And before you know it, you will have it back on its entertainment center, ready for use - without a scratch or dent to be seen.
